Photos from a River Bank & a Flood Plain

Some photos from my daily walk along the banks of Hunter River and the flood plain. All photos taken with my phone camera Samsung S21Ultra and the more recent ones (since March, 2025) with Samsung S23Ultra. By the way, I never buy a new phone, firstly because I can’t afford the new price and secondly people who buy the latest phone sell their old one at a good price.

As I stroll, I capture moments through my lens, which I share on my Twitter account @dodona777 and sometimes on my Blue Sky account ‪@mantikos.bsky.social‬. You’ll find many of these captivating snapshots here, a collection I update regularly with fresh images from my walks.

I have to say that one of my great joys, apart from the views and taking photos of my daily walk, is listening to my favourite music through earbuds. The music becomes a soundtrack to the living film of walking. Through the music, scenes of past friendships and events overlay the current moment. Other times, the present overlays my Life. Other times, I walk in silence with only the wind and birds singing around me. I like both experiences and their differences.

You’ll notice that the places I revisit are captured in a new light each time. Just as you can never step into the same river twice, you can never capture the same photo twice. The ever-changing light and surroundings ensure that each photo is a unique reflection of the moment, much like how I, the photographer, am constantly evolving.

By the way, I started this daily walk routine in September 2021 as my response to being diagnosed with diabetes. If you want to know what these daily walks have helped in my diabetes remission, click here.

Take a moment to immerse yourself in the scenes I encounter on my daily walks. Each photo is a window into a unique moment, inviting you to explore and appreciate the beauty of the everyday.

Stavros, so many of these photos are just stunning. I paint portraits but do a few landscapes when I want a rest. You really have an eye for composition and it would be hard to pick 12 photos for a calendar! That would be a task indeed. Keep snapping!

I enjoyed very much browsing through your photos, they’re beautiful and show off the lovely landscapes of the places you go for daily walks. A really nice part of our big wide country, You’ve an eye for framing and the phone’s camera is very good quality. A really enjoyable experience❤️
