Hello Steve. Just recently for some reason I was moved to look up sayings of the Mulla Nasruddin (I used to have Idries Shah’s book but lost it along the way) and then I went on to looking at books from the Golden Sufi website about Sufism. (My meditation teacher once lent me Irena Tweedie’s book “Daugher of Fire”.) And from there my thoughts turned to you and the long talks we used to have in Newtown so long ago. The last time we talked was in 1990 I think and I’d love to catch up if you’d like to. Regards, Colin

It’s strange how synchronicity works because I was thinking about you – out of the blue – just the other day and how you and Petrina were kind to us by looking after our kids when Jane and I went to the Gurdjieff group meetings in Sydney. A favorite story for me was one I heard at an Insight Meditation retreat a few years ago.
Nasrudin went into a bank that he did not usually use and asked to withdraw a large sum of money from his account. The bank clerk was naturally suspicious and asked him politely:
“Have you any means of identifying yourself?”
Nasrudin reached down into the pockets of his long cloak and found an ornate mirror. He held the mirror up and looked studiously into it and exclaimed to the clerk:
“Yes, that’s me all right.”
An impressive share! I have just forwarded this onto a coworker who was doing a little research on this.
And he actually ordered me breakfast simply because
I stumbled upon it for him… lol. So let me reword this….
